Patient advocates attend the annual Obesity Congress in Bern, Switzerland.
On 16 November 2023, Patient Advocated from Eurobesitas in Switzerland had the opportunity to attend the annual obesity congress held in Bern.
Delegates attended a number of sessions throughout the two day congress where they were presented in subjects such as psychological barrier to motivation, eating behaviours and obesity and also discussions on why obesity is a disease.
As part of the congress, a televised panel discussion took place to discuss how obesity management can be improved in Switzerland. Our advocates were able to show the importance of the patient voice, not only in the management of obesity, but also in research. This was achieved by giving contributions of the lived experience from members of Eurobesitas.
