Considering the growing concerns of obesity in Slovakia, we are proud and have the pleasure to share the latest development from Hana Vrabcova, on her recent appointment from the Minster of Health of the Slovak Republic, Marek Krajčí, who has also been a pediatric cardiologist for over 20 years.
Hana has been appointed the position of a member of the support working group entitled ‘Prevention of endocrinological and metabolic diseases’ for Slovakia. Hana continues to be a strong and passionate patient advocate, working daily as a Pharmacist supporting patients, whilst engaging actively on a European level on campaigns and changing the narrative on obesity.
Hana engaged with us to share her thoughts on this latest important appointment…
‘It is necessary to prepare methodological proposals and guidelines for the prevention and treatment of obesity at all levels of health care, which are lacking in our country for adults, and the recognition that obesity is a chronic disease.
We also need to provide training for health care professionals in the prevention and treatment of obesity, including ordinary citizens and children. This appointment is a wonderful birthday present to me and I look forward to this challenge.‘
