Stigma, identity and living with obesity A patient perspective

EASO is pleased to share and highlight this recent publication on obesity stigma developed jointly with ECPO Director Christina Fleetwood, ECPO member David Matscheck, and Obesity Canada Director Ximena Ramos Salas.

The new publication, Stigma, Identity and Living with Obesity, A patient perspective includes definitions of weight stigma, and internalised weight bias, discussion of the social implications obesity, information on obesity as a chronic disease and goals of obesity management and treatment, the role of self-care in living with obesity, views on personal recovery and a useful list of references and related publications.  The booklet is anticipated to garner a wide readership throughout the obesity community.
