Tell us a bit about yourself:

My name is Marion and I have lived happily with my husband for 37 years. We now have an adult daughter.  I have lived with the chronic disease of obesity since childhood. It has not always been easy for me to participate in life. Until now, there has been a lack of understanding about obesity in society. Many people still blame themselves for the disease. This has to stop. Everyone needs to understand that obesity is a disease that is not self-inflicted.

Connecting with people, reading – my favorite author is John Irving

What is your personal experience with obesity:

I grew up with it and had to learn to live with it. It has been a very long journey to understand that obesity is a chronic disease.
