Obesity in Scotland
Obesity levels in Scotland are among the highest of the OECD countries. 67% of adults in Scotland are classed as suffering from overweight and obesity. 30% of children in Scotland are classed as suffering from overweight and obesity. The proportion of children at risk of obesity significantly increased with age, from 11% of those aged 2-6 to 21% of those aged 12-15. These proportions were the same for both boys and girls.
